St Christopher’s, Heritage Open Days 2022 16th, 17th & 18th September
You are very welcome to visit St Christopher’s when the church participates in the 2022 national Heritage Open Days with floral displays with an Astounding Inventions theme. Refreshments in the churchyard with stunning views over Roding valley. Church tours and bell ringing demonstrations.
The Sunday church service will also be our Harvest Festival.
The church will be decorated with seasonal flowers, many from local gardens.
The Astounding Inventions theme will be emphasised by the inclusion of text, exhibits and examples of Astounding Inventions.
In addition tea, coffee and cakes, will be available.
Willingale is only 7 miles from Chelmsford, the birthplace of radio, so you can expect one of the Astounding Inventions displays to focus on radio. But to find other “I never knew that!“ experiences you’ll need to come along to St. Christopher’s. Enjoy a guided tour of our church’s rich heritage. Listen to the bells and see the traditional art of bellringing.
Join us on Sunday morning for our Harvest Festival service when we give thanks for the natural bounty from the land and the God given science of inventions. Willingale is located on the long distance footpath, The Essex Way. The churches afford scenic views across the Roding Valley and there are numerous rural walks in the area.
