WILLINGALE AMATEUR DRAMATICS SOCIETY “WAMDRAMS”
Formed in 2011, with limited experience, this group of thespians has produced fifteen shows so far with its 16th scheduled for the early 2023. Amongst these, there have been several pantomimes, three comedy plays, two musicals, three cabarets and even our very own Strictly Come Willingale. Our performers during this time have all come from the Village or close neighbours. The youngest children have appeared at the age of three and the oldest well into the 70s.
Many of the performances have been a sell-out proving the ongoing popularity of what WAMDRAMS has to offer. The respective casts have brought high quality singing and dancing, laughter, fine acting and some tear-jerking moments.
WAMDRAMS’ greatest asset is the camaraderie that exists within the group. Team effort inspires good performances and the actors, singers and dancers have the confidence in a strong backstage team that builds magnificent sets, provides costumes, lighting and sound among a multitude of tasks to bring the productions to a high level.
Much attention is paid to the future of the group since it has taken the Village by storm over the past seven years and we are anxious to see it go from strength to strength. This will require the recruitment of new members who will always be most welcome.
